Programme profile

During the course of the study programme, you will gain an insight into the programming and creation of IT systems. You will also learn how to programme in Java and C# as well as design databases that meet the requirements for good database design. At the same time, you will acquire an understanding of how a company works and how new IT systems can be introduced.

Toward the end of your studies, you will get an opportunity to specialise in a specific area, for instance in game or software development for mobile platforms.

Progression

Graduates can top up this 2-year AP Degree to a full BSC, in a further 1.5 years, in the follweing programmes:

- Software Development

- Web Development

- Digital Concept Development

Entry Requirements

GCE with examination in 8 subjects where at least 3 are A-levels, alternatively 2 A-levels + 2 AS-levels. 

OR relevant BETEC Level 3 Extended Diploma

Leaving Certificate, showing at least 6 subjects of which at least 2 must be H5, Ordinary Maths will be considered for Maths requirement. FETAC Level 5 Certificates and Level 6 Advanced Certificates will be considered for admission only to same study field as they would gain entry for in Ireland
